OWEN SOUND — The Guelph Storm couldn't overcome a terrible start on the road against the Owen Sound Attack Saturday night.
The Attack scored six times in the first period en route to a 7-5 victory over Guelph. Guelph trailed 7-1 before rallying for four straight goals to make it 7-5 with 11:09 left in the third period, but they couldn't get any closer.
Eric Uba scored twice for the Storm, with singles going to Keegan Stevenson, Jacob Roach and Matt Papais.
Pavel Gogolev was held scoreless after scoring at least once in the each of Guelph's last 10 games.
The Storm lost captain Cam Hillis in the opening minute of the second period after he was assessed a five-minute slashing major and game misconduct for a two-hander on Owen Sound defenceman Mark Woolley.
Owen Bennett played the entire game for the Storm, allowing seven goals on 25 shots.
The Storm hosts the Kitchener Rangers Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
