One shot, one opportunity for Guelph United to stay in League1 Ontario’s top division.
United will visit St. Catharines in a one-game relegation playoff on Wednesday, Sept. 11, for the right to play in the Premier Division in 2025.
The loser will compete in the second-tier Championship Division next season.
Guelph finished 11th in the Premier with a 4-14-4 record.
St. Catharines was third in the second division. Second place would typically earn the ability to play for promotion, but with first place TFC Academy moving to a different league next year, St. Catharines was bumped up a spot.
United ended the regular season with a 3-3 draw against Simcoe County.
