The Friday night tradition begins again this fall for Guelph Storm fans, but it comes with an earlier start time at the Sleeman Centre.
The Ontario Hockey League schedule has been released for the 2024-25 season.
The Storm will play 18 of its 34 home games on Friday nights, but the start time has moved up to 7:07 p.m.
There will also be five Saturday games, including a pair of 4:07 p.m. starts against Kitchener (Oct. 19) and London (Nov. 16).
Six Sunday games will happen at the Sleeman Centre, and much like last season, the Sudbury Wolves will visit for a Family Day Monday game on Feb. 17.
During the week, the Storm will play three Wednesday games at home – all after the turn of the calendar to 2025 – and a Thursday night game late in the season against Erie.
Of note, the Storm will embark on a four-game road swing in January as the WFG Masters Grand Slam of Curling event will take up shop at the Sleeman Centre Jan. 14-19, 2025.
Guelph will have just two three-in-three weekends all season, and both come one after another (Oct. 18-20 and Oct. 25-27).
February is the team’s busiest month, with 13 games on the schedule, including a stretch where Guelph will play five games in eight days, beginning with a trip up to Sault Ste. Marie on Feb. 21.
The Highway 7 rivalry renews Oct. 6 on the road against the Kitchener Rangers, the first of eight games between the two sides. Kitchener’s first visit to Guelph is Oct. 19 as part of a home-and-home.
The home opener is Fri. Sept. 27 against the Owen Sound Attack.
The full schedule will be posted to the Storm website.
