The Guelph Storm traded overage defenceman Markus Phillips to the London Knights on Wednesday.

In return the Storm receives three draft picks: a second round pick 2023 that originally belonged to Hamilton, a third round pick in 2021 that originally belonged to Barrie and London's own fourth round pick in 2021.

Phillips was recently returned to the Storm by the NHL's Los Angeles Kings. He had played 20 games this season in the ECHL and five games in the AHL.

Guelph acquired Phillips on Jan. 5 last year in a trade with the Owen Sound Attack for three second round picks, two third round picks and a fourth round pick that was conditional on Phillips playing in the OHL this year.

He played a total of 59 games in a Storm jersey, recording five goals and 15 assists.

The Storm had four overage playes on its roster and can only dress three.

The OHL trade deadline for overage players is Thursday while the deadline for all other players is Friday.
