ERIE – It was déjà vu for the Guelph Storm Tuesday in Erie.
For the second game in a row the Storm lost 4-3 and for the second game in a row the loss came in a shootout.
The Otters' Matt Spence had the lone goal of the shootout, beating Storm goaltender Colin Ellsworth with a sweeping reverse-momentum move in tight.
Erie goaltender Noah Erlinder stopped Lev Katzin, Jett Luchanko (who hit the post) and Charlie Paquette at the other end.
The Otters tied the game 3-3 when Carey Terrance finished off a two-on one with 4:08 remaining in regulation.
Justin Bottineau, with his first goal for Guelph, Katzin and Paquette had the Storm goals in regulation.
Guelph had just four defencemen dressed, one of who was call-up Drew Morris. Forwards helped fill the gaps as needed.
The Storm hosts North Bay Friday.
