SAGINAW – The country's pre-season fourth-ranked team isn't likely to be in the top 10 when the new rankings come out next week.

The Guelph Storm was thrashed 10-6 by the Saginaw Spirit on the road Saturday night, coming on the heels of an overtime loss in the season opener the night before.

The Spirit scored 10 goals on just 28 shots, as starter Jacob Oster was yanked after giving up the first six goals, then Ethan Kowatsch gave up the final four.

Three of Saginaw's goals came on the power play. Guelph has now give up seven power play goals in its first two games.

Cedricson Okinitundu and Jett Luchanko had their first OHL goals for the Storm, with Matt Poitras, Cooper Walker, Braeden Bowman and Danny Zhilkin scoring for the Storm.

Michael Misa, the exceptional status first overall pick, had his first two OHL goals for Saginaw.

The Storm hosts Flint on Friday.
