Guelph defenceman Cam Allen is heading to the rival London Knights.
The Storm have sent the veteran blueliner and former OHL rookie of the year to London for seven draft picks and defender Noah Jenken.
The Storm get a pair of second round selections in 2026, a third round pick in both 2025 and 2027, a fourth round pick in both 2027 and 2028 and a fifth round choice, also in 2028 in the deal.
Allen, a Washington Capitals prospect, potted 96 points in 179 regular season games in Guelph.
He had 25 points this season, leading the team in that department.
“This was a very difficult decision for our organization,” general manager George Burnett said in a news release.
“Cam has been a tremendous player, leader, and community ambassador for the Storm over the last four years and we hope that the relationship between Cam, his family, and the Storm continues in the future.”
Jenken, a six-foot-three left-shot defender, has seven assists in 37 games with London.
It’s part of a busy afternoon for Burnett.
Less than an hour earlier, Guelph acquired forward Justin Bottineau from Kitchener.
In return, the Rangers got a fifth round pick in 2028.
Bottineau, 18, was Kitchener's third round pick in 2022. He has 10 goals and 21 assists in 140 regular season games in his OHL career.
He reunites with Storm forward Leo Serlin. The two were teammates with the Toronto Marlboros U16 AAA program in 2021-22.
