TORONTO – The Guelph Gryphons jumped out to a 22-0 lead in the first quarter before cruising to a 47-10 win over the University of Toronto Blues in a big raod win Sunday night.
Tristan Aboud connected with Jakob Tomas on a 46-yard touchdown pass on Guelph's first possession and they never looked back.
They led 23-7 at the half.
Guelph racked up 554 yards in total offence on the night, holding Toronto to 254 yards
Aboud threw for three touchdowns in the game and ran for a fourth. On the night he completed 22 of 30 pass attempts for 313 yards.
Caleb Sargeant led the ground attack with 82 yards on nine attempts and a touchdown. Marshall McCray also ran for a major.
Will Arsenault caught a team-best six passes for 106 yards, Tomas caught two touchdowns and Jarod Tessier also had a touchdown reception.
The defence had two interceptions and three sacks, two of those by Larry Yunus.
Guelph plays at Laurier on Saturday. Next home game is Sept. 14 against McMaster.
