This winter weather travel advisory has been upgraded from a Special Weather Statement that was previously in effect.
Hazards:
5 to 10 cm of snow, with locally higher amounts possible.
Reduced visibility in areas of heavier snow.
Timing:
Beginning this morning and ending tonight.
Discussion:
Light snow is expected to begin this morning, but should intensify late in the afternoon or evening. The snow will taper off from west to east late tonight.
There is also a risk of freezing rain for areas near Lake Erie this evening.
The snow may have a significant impact on the evening commute in more urban areas.
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
