Friends of the Guelph Public Library BIG Book Sale

440 Elmira Rd. N.; 2 to 8 p.m.
The book sale is in support of the Guelph Public Library. There will be a wide array of  gently used books for sale from $1 to $4. Children's books and specialty books will have individual pricing. Cash and debit are accepted payment forms. The sale is free to attend. There is limited parking but attendants can direct people to additional parking on both sides of Massey Road. Carpooling and public transit is encouraged.

Hope in the Street

Spring Mill Distillery at 43 Arthur St. S.; 5 to 11 p.m.
Hope in the Street is back with its food and music oriented street festival. Money raised from the event will go to Hope House, a non-profit organization with programs and services aiming to tackle poverty. Donations will be accepted upon entry. 

Enchanta Forest Symphony

Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex at 550 Belsyde Ave.; 5 to 11 p.m.
The Toronto String Quartet performs in a forest.There will be acts, magic shows and vendors. People are encouraged to wear formal wear or costumes. Tickets are $17.31 and can be purchased online.

Saturday

Guelph Farmers' Market

2 Gordon St.; 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Check out an abundance of fresh produce, baked goods, beverages, and products from local meat producers.

Aberfoyle Antique Market Saturday Special Show

57 Brock Rd. S.; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be over 90 vendors joining season regulars selling antiques. Tickets are $10 per adult at the door.

Eramosa River Trail parkrun and parkwalk

Eramosa River Trail at 85 York Rd.; 9 a.m. to noon
A free weekly timed 5k run, jog, and walk kicks off just east of the covered bridge near The Boathouse. Newcomers are encouraged to join at 8:45 a.m.

Schroder Cres. Park Stewards

59 Schroder Cres.; 9:30 a.m.
A community tree and shrub planting event open to all ages. Learn about some of the native trees and shrubs in our region and proper planting techniques while getting some fresh air and exercise.

Guelph Outdoor Handmade Market

Royal City Park; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A local maker market filled with vendors selling a variety of goods.

Praise The Ward

The Ward; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The second annual festival in the celebration of The Ward with 40 events at 20 venues. There will be food, music, craft market vendors, workshops, yoga, art galleries, activities for children and more. Its a suggested $40 ticket price or pay-what-you-can. Money helps support the arts performing at the festival. Tickets can be purchased online. If you end up at an event without a ticket you can donate and pay-what-you-can there.

Art in the Park

The green space at 25 West Mill St.; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Elora Fergus Studio Tour & Friends will be gathered at the park so studio tour and community artists can demonstrate their art.

Downtown Dog Promenade

Downtown Guelph; noon to 4 p.m.
The annual downtown dog promenade is back this weekend with puppy ball pits, photo booths, agility courses and a costume contest.

Lantern Parade

Exhibition Park; 7 to 10 p.m.
Bring a decorated lantern you crafted and light it up with battery operated string lights, LED candles or flashlights. People are welcomed to dress in costume and deck themselves out in lights. Walk around the park with your lantern and end the procession with a dance party. The free event is put on by the Exhibition Park Neighbourhood Group.

Guelph Celtic Orchestra Concert

Guelph Little Theatre at 176 Morris St.; 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The Guelph Celtic Orchestra will perform along will special guests Xavier Leahy, Anna Smilek and Mika McCairley. It will be a night of fiddle music and dance. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door and $10 for children 12 and under. 

Sunday

Aberfoyle Antique Market

57 Brock Rd. S.; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A variety of antique vendors selling unique treasures. Tickets are $5 for adults and is free for children 12 and under.

Tree Planting Event

Kortright Hills Natural Area; 9:30 a.m.
Join the Speed Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited alongside the City of Guelph for an all-ages community tree planting event.

Meet a Tree

Guelph Outdoor School at 733 Stone Rd. E.; 10 a.m. to noon
Family friendly games for ages four and up. There is also the option to explore the forest. Registration is required for this event.

The Hive at 349 Elizabeth St.; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A vendor market with upcycled items, teas, lotions, and trinkets.

Falling for Local

Delta Hotel at 50 Stone Rd.; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A free vendor and craft market with over 45 local makers. 

Culture Quest

Guelph Black Heritage Society at 83 Essex St.; 12:30 to 5 p.m.
This brewery tour is aimed to introduce the BIPOC community to the local craft beer scene. Partnering up to present this event is Guelph Black Heritage Society, Guelph.Beer and Link Up, a non-profit organization aiming to diversify the craft beer industry. There will be two separate tour routes with three brewery stops each. There will be music, pop-up chefs and beer tours. Tickets are $35 plus tax and can be purchased online.
