The following video shows Guelph police constable Corey McArthur assaulting a teenager in Guelph General Hospital on Sept. 19, 2016.
McArthur has pleaded guilty to assault and is awaiting sentencing. Read the story here.
The video was taken by security cameras at Guelph General Hospital and has been submitted as evidence in the case.
The victim was 17 at the time of this incident and his identity is protected by court order. GuelphToday has obscured the victim's face to protect his identity.
The victim was taken to the hospital for mental health reasons and was believed to be high on drugs. The two officers were trying to restrain him further after the patient tried to injure himself by banging his head on the metal rails.
Just prior to the assault, and not seen clearly on the video, is that the teenager kneed Const. McArthur in the midsection.
