The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) is conducting a boundary review for Central Public School just west of Downtown Guelph to address growing capacity issues.

The small Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 school on Dublin Street can accommodate 274 students, but in the last two years has seen increased enrolment and is at overcapacity. Given its downtown location, the school also has limited parking and play areas.

To help ease overcapacity pressures, the boundary review process will involve Central Public School, Paisley Road Public School and Willow Road Public School.

The approved changes for the boundary review are expected to be implemented in the 2024-2025 school year.

A boundary review is also being conducted for Primrose Elementary School in Mulmur, just north of Shelburne.

Feedback can be provided on the Central Public School boundary review through this survey or by emailing [email protected]

A public information session will also be held on Nov. 30 between 6 to 8 p.m. at Central PS.
