The Upper Grand District School Board said parents have until Jan. 31 to register a student for either the Kindergarten and the Junior Kindergarten french immersion program for the upcoming school year.
The board said registering on time helps the board staff classrooms properly.
For the french immersion program, applications received after 4 p.m. on Jan. 31 will be considered late. The program is subject to available space.
As well, the board has adopted a policy regarding those registered or registering from out of the area or out of district (OOA/OOD).
The board said it will maintain a list of schools either open or closed to those registrations.
“Schools are reviewed each year, and the list is updated and posted prior to the December break,” the board said in a news release.
It said only schools designated as open can take in new registrations in the January window.
New registrations need to be completed by Jan. 31.
“All schools are closed to OOA/OOD after this date,” the board said. “And the next opportunity to register at a school as OOA/OOD is January 2026.”
