NEWS RELEASE
FRIENDS OF THE GUELPH PUBLIC LIBRARY
*************************
The Friends of the Guelph Public Library are busy getting ready for this year’s annual Big Book Sale! A team of dedicated volunteers is working hard to sort the incoming donations and get this year’s new larger space ready to welcome customers from Thursday, Sept. 19 to Sunday, Sept. 22. The new space, at 440 Elmira Road North, is much larger than last year’s and is supported by The Bamco Group, Guelph.

This year the sale will be keeping prices affordable with hardcover books priced at $4, trade paperbacks at $3 and mass market paperbacks at just $1. Children’s books, DVDs, puzzles, games, and collectable books will be priced individually. Once again this year, all children attending the sale will be able to choose one free book. And, for the first time, both cash and debit payments will be accepted!

For those having too many books on your shelves, the time to declutter is NOW. There is still time to donate, but don’t delay – the final date to donate items to this year’s sale is Monday, September 9th. Books, DVDs, vinyl records, puzzles and games for all ages in good, sellable condition are being accepted at four locations this year including three Guelph Public Library locations, the Main Library, the Westminster Square and East Side Branches during open hours. Donations can also be dropped off at the sale site, 440 Elmira Road, North, Guelph, during the following hours: Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 9pm. For more information about what will be accepted or how to best pack your boxes, please visit the Book Sale Donations page on the fgpl.ca website.

It takes hundreds of volunteers to help make this event happen. If you would like to be a part of our dynamic team, the Friends would love to welcome you! To find out more about volunteer positions that still need to be filled, simply go to the Volunteer for the Booksale page on the fgpl.ca website.
