Not long after owner Kristy Miller scored a deal on CBCs’ Dragons’ Den, The Scented Market has been nominated for an Ontario Made award.
The Ontario Made program is run by Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), which represents more than 2,500 leading manufactures across the country.
CME announced the nominees for the second annual Ontario Made Awards Thursday. The list is made up of manufacturers and retailers in Ontario “that help consumers make informed decisions to increase the sale and awareness of provincially-made products,” the news release states.
The Scented Market is a Guelph-based, eco-friendly lifestyle company that makes and sells items like scented soy candles, room sprays, bath salts and bubble bath. It's nominated for a Retailer Spotlight Award, which recognizes an Ontario Made retailer and highlights the importance of making things in Ontario.
“We couldn’t be prouder than to recognize the accomplishments of this year’s nominees and celebrate the incredible variety of Ontario-made products that are made and sold by these companies,” said Dennis Darby, President & CEO of CME in the news release.
“Your voice matters – we look forward to Ontarians getting involved, celebrating the achievements of their neighbours, and voting for their favourite manufacturer and retailer in each category.”
Consumers can vote for their favourite Ontario manufacturer and retailer until Jan. 8. Each time a vote is submitted, individuals will be entered in a draw to win one of five $200 gift cards to a registered Ontario Made business.
Winners will be announced on Feb. 22 during the virtual awards ceremony, which is free to attend. Further details regarding the ceremony will be announced soon.
