A Kansas City Chiefs jersey signed by Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift was auctioned off in Guelph this past weekend, raising $21,000 for a local charity.
Linamar Corp. donated the signed jersey to raise funds for The Guelph Wish Fund for Children at its silent auction this past Saturday, as part of its annual Curl for Kids Winter Bonspiel charity fundraising event.
Due to the publicity the jersey received, the charity decided to open it to online bidding. It sold for $21,000 after 25 bids.
A Patrick Mahomes jersey was also up for grabs, and sold for $5,000.
There were also jerseys signed by Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Michael Jordan, which were auctioned off for $3,600, $1,600, and $2,700, respectively.
In total, the five jerseys raised nearly $34,000, while the event itself raised a total of $125,000 for the charity, according to a tweet from executive director Helen Loftin.
