There will be some tasty offerings this Saturday at HOPE House on Cork Street for the kickoff launch for the Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser.
The annual launch event will see four different rice and curry dishes available for sampling and votes tallied to determine the favourite. The favourite will then be served at the Coldest Night of the Year walk fundraising event on Feb. 24.
In preparation for our Coldest Night of the Year event held Feb. 24, we are hosting a kickoff party! Come eat with us and decide which dishes will be served following the Coldest Night of the Year walk!
For $5 on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. you can sample two of the following dishes: Afghani chicken rice, chicken biryani rice, vegetarian chickpea curry and vegetarian rice.
"After digging in, you vote for your favourite dish. The top chicken and vegetarian dishes will then be available for free at Coldest Night of the Year! Just one more reason to walk! To register as a walker or volunteer, visit here," said HOPE House.
The goal for this year's Coldest Night of the Year event locally is $100,000.
Coldest Night of the Year helps to raise awareness and funds to address the needs of individuals and families experiencing poverty within our community.
