The city says the indoor section of the Guelph Farmers’ Market will reopen on a limited basis in early September.

The market opened July 4 with vendors in its back parking lot, with 30 local farmers and primary producers selling local fresh produce and fruits. Since then the city says each market day has seen roughly 1,500 customers, about 60 per cent of normal attendance.

“Challenges exist inside in connection with physical distancing and design of physical barriers or screens. After a deep clean, some physical improvements and consultation with Public Health, staff expect to open the indoor market and welcome back another 30 to 35 vendors by early September,” says a city report.
