A Stop The Stigma Rally on Friday is aimed at bringing awareness to the negative effects of stigmatizing those dealing with substance use and addiction.
The rally, organized by the Wellington-Guelph Drug Strategy, takes place from noon until 1 p.m. at Market Square.
“It’s time to see the ‘Us’ in substance abuse,” says a news release promoting the event.
“The rally is a call to action, inviting everyone to replace stigma with information, understanding, compassion and assistance.”
Speakers and activities will explore stigma-busting actions and offer examples of the steps that can be taken to help reduce stigma.
Pizza, pop, games and activities will be part of the event.
