NEWS RELEASE
DOWNTOWN GUELPH BUSINESS ASSOCIATION
************************
After a two-year hiatus the Guelph Community Santa Parade is back and we want to celebrate!
Taking place on Sunday, Nov. 20 in downtown Guelph, parade organizers are looking for loud, bold, colourful entries for this much-loved civic celebration. We welcome bands, dancers, sports teams, cosplayers and anyone else who wants to dress up and let out two years of wiggles! Give your entry a seasonal theme, make it a big thank you to our hard working first responders, or just make it bright and beautiful. Whatever makes our community smile, we want to see it.
The parade is not possible without the support of sponsors and donors. This year we are particularly in need of flatbed trucks for use as floats. So if you have a trailer sitting on your driveway on parade weekend that would be more useful covered in tinsel, please get in touch.
We are also making an extra special appeal for live music performance. Performers who want to travel along the route and entertain the thousands of spectators with Christmas covers, karaoke, seasonal punk, DJing set…we’d love to work with you to make it happen.
Parade organizer Sam Jewell says “we have plenty of creative people in our City so let’s take this one to the next level. We are here to help with ideas as well as provide funds that pay directly for materials. We understand that it takes time and money to make something special, and we don’t want there to be financial barriers to people taking part."
Other ways to get involved include volunteering on the day or dressing up in a Santa suit and running the route right before the parade starts. Find all the information for this feel-good event here.
