For six days in August, GSO will present a series of free (or nominally priced) , 45-minute concerts, in imaginative, unexpected, and less formal settings throughout the city, designed to engage, entertain and be interactive.
The Guelph Symphony Orchestra's Pop Up Orchestra Festival will kick off on Tuesday with an enchanting evening at Yorklands Green Hub with "Symphony Under the Stars."
Set against the serene backdrop of Yorklands' natural beauty and the twinkling night skies, this pop-up event promises a magical fusion of music and nature. Enjoy a captivating performance by the orchestra as the stars illuminate the night, with Ten Telescopes on hand to offer guided stargazing sessions, adding an extra layer of wonder to the experience. Bring your family, friends, and a cozy blanket to revel in this unique outdoor concert that celebrates the harmony of music and the cosmos.

Other concerts include a narrated performance of Robin Hood and Ms. Marion, and an art-inspired program, at the Art Gallery of Guelph including a performance of Dinuk Wijeratne’s The Disappearance of Lisa Gherardini that tells the story of the real-life theft of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa from the Louvre Museum in 1911.
