Police seize a Toyota and a Chevrolet for going way too fast

CITY OF GUELPH – On April 30, 2016 at approximately 2:35 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road, Guelph. 

A woman was driving a 2011 Toyota well above the posted speed limit and the vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 138 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.

47-year-old Shakiba Khan of Mississauga has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. 

She is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 18, 2016.

CITY OF GUELPH – On April 30, 2016 at approximately 9 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road, Guelph. 

A male was driving a 2006 Chevrolet well above the posted speed limit and the vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 137 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.

24-year-old Brian Pistor of London has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. 

He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 18, 2016.
