A big party is on tap for the official opening of the new Rockmosa Skatepark in Rockwood on Thursday, Aug. 3.
The new park is located behind the Rockmosa Community Centre at 78 Christie St.
The official ceremony takes place at 5 p.m., followed by the burying of a time capsule at 5:30 p.m.
A six-person skate team from Hamilton's The Local Skate Shop will put on a one-hour demonstration beginning at 6 p.m.
Food trucks and a bouncy castle will be available from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
A free family movie will be shown starting at 9:30 p.m.
There will also be a beer garden and the Tragically HIp cover band Practically Hip will perform from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
