For a year, new landlord Ryan Bedrosian tried to evict squatters from the first home he bought.
He tried every legal avenue possible to get them out of the three-bedroom backsplit in the city’s west end, the future home for him and his fiance.
Factoring in the cost of complying with city-issued property standards orders to clean up the yard and mounting lawyers fees, as well as land taxes for a property he’s not using, Bedrosian says he is out about $50,000 and counting.
He eventually got them out, some having to be paid big chunks of cash to turn over their keys, but it left Bedorsian wondering if he even wanted to live in the house any more.
