On the surface it seemed pretty normal: A charity holds an event, there's a silent auction table over on the side to help raise money, everyone wins.

About $125,000 was raised at Linamar’s Curl for Kids auction. Proceeds from the auction is being divided between the Guelph Wish Fund for Children, the Oakville Fare Share Food Bank and Halton Women’s Crisis Shelter.

But then questions were raised about the authenticity about some of those high-end autographed items, most notably Kansas City Chiefs jerseys supposedly autographed by super couple Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.

The guy that supplied the items through his business claimed they were legit. Many others in the autograph collecting and selling world said 'no way.'

Things unravelled quickly.
