An online silent auction has been kicked off as a fundraiser for the Guelph Youth Music Centre (GYMC) until the beginning of December.

The holiday silent auction aims to raise money for the not-for-profit education and music centre aimed at youth. The online auction started on Monday and will go until the 7 p.m. on Dec. 1. The goal is to raise $2,500 and it has already raised $2,076 through the auction.

Items like a framed Wayne Gretsky print, an HD video drone, a Denver acoustic guitar from Long & McQuade and others are up on the auction website. Experiences to bid on are things like; a lunch with Guelph MPP Mike Schreiner, a tour and tasting with Spring Mill Distillery and passes to Hillside Festival.

For those interested in food there are gift cards for Beertown, The Fat Duck and Red Brick Cafe. There are also tickets for the Guelph Storm, Guelph Little Theatre, Guelph Musicfest, River Run, Drayton Entertainment, The Registry Theatre and Stratford Festival.

GYMC at 75 Cardigan St. has music lessons for youth but also has organizations at the centre like; the Guelph School of Music, Suzuki String School of Guelph, The Acting Center, Dance Spirit Studios, Great Lakes Music Together and Guelph Youth Singers. The centre hosts events like the Guelph Jazz Festival, Guelph Musicfest, Guelph Film Festival, Kiwanis Music Festival and more.
