Christmas concerts are approaching and Guelph’s Adrian Raso is about to set the mood with his music featuring special guests in December.
Adrian Raso & Friends Christmas Concert is Dec. 6 and 7 at Royal City Mission and the doors open at 7 p.m. for both concerts. Tickets are available at the door or online and are $25. Proceeds will be donated to the Royal City Mission. For children 12 and under admission is free by bringing a non-perishable food item. They must be accompanied by an adult.
Raso has taught guitar for about 35 years, including at the Guelph School of Guitar which he founded in 2002.
He has released several solo albums. On the album Devil’s Tale, he collaborated with Romanian brass band Fanfare Ciocarlia and it combines Balkan and Manouche style rhythms with Mediterranean music. The album won the German Record Critics Award in 2014.
In 2020, he transitioned into film as a screen composer. His work is featured in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Hotel Belgrade and No More Time.
