A local cemetery will soon be part of the background of a future episode of CBC Television's series Murdoch Mysteries.
Shaftsbury Films Inc. says it will be filming exterior scenes for the show at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Friday and Saturday.
The popular show has used Guelph for filming on several occasions in the past, including the Goldie Mill ruins, Douglas Street and the University of Guelph.
Areas at Woodlawn cemetery will be reserved for filming starting Thursday morning. Residents with permit parking are being asked to park in driveways, nearby streets or in pay lots while filming takes place.
The release mentions flare and simulated gun fire will be used during filming on Saturday and Sunday. Special effects will be monitored by members of both Guelph Police Services and the Guelph Fire Department.
All filming and related activities have been approved by the City of Guelph and crew members will be following health and safety protocols issued by the Film and Television Industry of Ontario, as approved by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skill Development.
All further questions about the production can be directed to the City of Guelph Economic Development Office at 519-822-1260 or by email at [email protected].
