The Medieval Family Day Festival's Knights Fest is back this month.

The free day of fun and activities is being put on by the Guelph Youth Music Centre (GYMC) and Blackthorn Productions.

The event on Feb. 19 is at GYMC from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be activities for all ages like; magic, artifact displays, Renaissance dancing, weapon and armour demonstrations.

“This is a free event with activities for everyone to enjoy,” said Samantha Zimmerman, GYMC executive director, in a press release.

“Families will be able to participate in displays, costumes, entertainment, games and activities. All to the theme of the Medieval and Renaissance eras. We are excited to be working with Blackthorn Productions again this year, who will provide a complete, fun filled family oriented experience. Everyone is welcome to participate in this fantastic community event,” said Zimmerman.

There will be a variety of games like; hit the knight, trebuchets, and heraldry, in addition to knighting ceremonies and photos with the Knight Fest King and Queen.

The festival aims to have historical accuracy, and an educational experience.
