The city’s semi-annual Goods Exchange Weekend is upon us, with a variety of “gently used” items put out for others to freely take as they need.
Guelph residents are urged to put their unwanted but functional furniture, appliances and toys at the curb after 5 p.m. on Friday, with any items not taken by 7 p.m. on Monday removed from the curb.
Large items left at the curb may be subject to fines under the city’s waste management bylaw.
A post on the city’s website offers the following Goods Exchange Weekend advice:
- Move bikes, toys and gardening tools away from the curb to prevent misunderstandings
- Clearly label items you wish to give away as “FREE”
- Over the weekend, tour your neighbourhood to see what great deals you can find at the curb.
Goods Exchange weekends happen twice each year – once in the spring and again as autumn approaches.
