Get ready for a night of laughter and joy as Community of Hearts presents its annual Comedy Night Fundraiser on Oct. 19 at the Guelph Youth Music Centre. This event promises a fun-filled evening of comedy, all in support of a cause that makes a significant impact on lives.
“Our annual Comedy Fundraiser is always so much fun! It’s a fantastic way for the community to come together, enjoy great laughs, and celebrate inclusion while supporting the amazing people who attend Community of Hearts!” said Ariel Haines, Community of Hearts program director.
Community of Hearts is a charitable organization in downtown Guelph dedicated to helping youth, adults, and seniors with developmental disabilities achieve their desired level of independence. Through quality programming and a person-centered approach, they foster self-confidence, self-advocacy, and community engagement.
Attendees will enjoy a lineup of performances, delicious appetizers, and beverages from local vendors, along with raffles and games for a chance to win exciting prizes. Headlining the show is Jackie Pirico, a comedy sensation known for her JUNO Award-nominated albums "Dream Phone" and "Splash Pad." Also featuring local comedian Jason Dogleash, known for his quick wit and connection with the audience, and the Inclusive Improv Club, led by Hayley Kellet, showcasing talented improvisers from within the Community of Hearts programs.
“The Improv Team always brings incredible energy and joy to the stage. Last year’s cast felt like superstars, and I’m confident this year’s fundraiser will be just as amazing," said Hayley Kellet.
