With the celebration of Guelph Pride in the month of May, on May 11, the Guelph Chamber of Commerce will host its May Lunch and Learn featuring Pride at Work Canada’s Executive Director, Colin Druhan.

The event is presented in partnership with Miller Thomson LLP and McNeil Consumer Healthcare.

Diversity and inclusion represent incredible business and economic potential.

Innovation is spurred by different perspectives.

With demographic and population shifts, globalization, and advances in technology and communications, diverse perspectives linked in common purpose can drive innovation and growth for companies and the economy in Guelph.

“As a jobs powerhouse, Guelph continues to demonstrate how diverse workforces and inclusive workplaces unleash the talents of employees to create value, deliver a superior client experience and develop innovative solutions for the market and the community,” notes Guelph Chamber President and CEO Kithio Mwanzia. “By working with businesses and the community with and through diversity, Guelph will be able to continue to be the community of choice to live, work, play, invest and grow a business.”

Colin is passionate about improving the climate of inclusion for LGBT employees in Canadian workplaces.

As Executive Director of Pride at Work Canada he maintains operational accountability for the delivery of Pride at Work Canada’s national strategy, programs, and initiatives.

Pride at Work is a non-profit organization with the vision of putting LGBT diversity and inclusion on the mainstream business agenda.

Pride at Work Canada is currently in partnership with over 60 organizations.

“As an economic engine, Guelph plays an important role in Canada’s future prosperity,” adds Mwanzia. “As a leading community in job creation, it is vitally important that we remain at the forefront of issues linked to our capacity to attract and retain top talent.”

The Lunch and Learn takes place May 11 at Cutten Fields, 190 College Avenue E, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
