Linamar CEO Linda Hasenfratz is no longer a member of the province's COVID vaccine task force.
Hasenfratz resigned from the task force Tuesday after it came to light she had travelled overseas over the holidays.
A statement issued by the premier's office Tuesday evening said Hasenfratz apologized.
"Today, Premier Ford accepted the resignation of Linda Hasenfratz as a member of Ontario's COVID-19 Vaccination Distribution Task Force after it wa brought to his attention that she travelled outside the country in December," said the statement that was issued to media.
"She has apologized for her decision to do so.
"Thanks to the efforts of all Ontarians, we are starting to see early signs of progress in bending the curve. Now is not the time to let up. We continue to urge everyone to stay home."
The move reportedly comes after Hasenfratz was questioned about travelling overseas by the Globe and Mail, who said she had travelled to Barbados.
In a statement to the Globe and Mail, Hasenfratz said she didn't want her travel to "cause distraction" from the work of the task force. She told the Globe and Mail that she followed safety protocols and is still in quarantine.
Hasenfratz was named to the task force in December.
