Guelph Humane Society fundraiser jumps on 'made-in-Canada' train

Proceeds directly support the care of animals in need

The Guelph Humane Society has launched limited edition swag to show off your Canadian pride while helping animals in need.

“Over the past few weeks, we’ve witnessed a great increase in Canadian pride, and not only just Canadian pride, but Canadians looking for ways to display their Canadian pride,” said GHS executive director Lisa Viet.

“We know our community loves animals, and we thought it would be great to have some Canadian-based swag available that provided animal lovers with a way to show their Canadian pride in a fun way,” she said.

The launch, available in their online store, includes limited edition made-in-Canada t-shirts and a car window decal, all designed by GHS, manufactured in Ontario and printed locally.

“They’ve been really popular so far,” she said; especially the “fur-ever Canadian” shirt, which features a paw print and maple leaf.

Another prominently features a picture of a dog, and says “Snoots & Toots, Canadian Roots.”

“Celebrate the true north, cute & gassy with this fun, limited-edition tee! Whether you're a proud pet parent who loves booping snoots or laughing at adorable toots, this shirt is made for animal lovers with a great sense of humour,” the website reads.

“From wiggly snoots to unexpected toots, we love them all—because our pets are part of our Canadian roots! Grab yours today and support animals in need!”

The third t-shirt features a beaver, and says “Sorry, Not Sorry.”

“We are celebrating Canada’s hardest-working, most lovable icon—the beaver and there are no apologies about it,” the website states. “This limited-edition tee is perfect for those who believe in kindness, community, and building a better world for animals.”

Proceeds directly support the care of GHS animals, providing food, enrichment and medical care while they await adoption.

The limited edition merch is available online. Each order is custom-made and will take three to four weeks to arrive. They can either be picked up at the shelter or shipped throughout Canada.
