On Friday, the Ontario Agricultural College at U of G tweeted a thank you to actor Jon Hamm and delivery service Skip the Dishes for a shout out about Yukon Gold potatoes.
In the 15-second spot, Hamm is shown enjoying a basket of french fries and asking his assistant to order some more Yukon Gold fries. When the assistant calls them the Yukon's greatest creation, Hamm scoffs and says, "everyone knows these were invented in Guelph."
As Hamm rightfully points out, the Yukon Gold potato was developed in 1966 by Gary Johnston at U of G.
In its tweet, the OAC thanked Hamm and Skip the Dishes for the shout out.
