In a time of uncertainty for many healthcare organizations, St. Joseph’s Health Centre has received a $100,000 donation to continue supporting patients in life-altering health challenges, now and in the future.
The donation comes from the Barzotti family, owners of Barzotti Woodworking, and longtime supporters of the health centre. A bronze plaque has been dedicated to the Barzotti family for the gift, which is now on display inside the hospital.
Rosanna Barzotti, daughter of Vincent and Bruna Barzotti, says the family is very fortunate to have a place like St. Joe’s so close to home.
“We are pleased to make this donation knowing that any of us could find ourselves in need of the specialized health services that St. Joe’s provides,” says Barzotti in a release.
The release mentions the hospital will use the money to purchase new equipment and technologies needed for patients receiving rehabilitation, complex hospital care, palliative care and long term care. With the additional equipment, the hospital will be able to expand and adapt their programming to continue serving thousands of patients and residents.
Sera Filice-Armenio, CEO of St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation Guelph, says the hospital is grateful to the Barzotti Family and its philanthropy.
“This gift comes at such a pivotal time for our Health Centre,” she says in the release, “The Barzottis’ generosity is making a direct impact on the lives of so many here at St. Joe’s right now, and will continue to do so for years to come.”
