Guelph charity to auction off signed Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce jersey

The jersey will be up for auction this Saturday at the Guelph Curling Club

*** UPDATE: Due to the publicity of the jersey, the Guelph Wish Fund for Children has announced the item is now available for online bidding.

A Kansas City Chiefs jersey signed by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce has made its way to Guelph.

Kelce’s number 87 jersey with the signatures from the famous couple was donated by Linamar Corp. to the Guelph Wish Fund for Children for it’s silent auction on Saturday. Online bidding is now available for both this item and a signed Patrick Mahomes jersey.

It will be one of the items sold at its auction, according to a social media post from Helen Loftin, executive director of Guelph Wish Fund for Children.

The auction is part of Linamar’s annual Curl for Kids Winter Bonspiel this Saturday that raises money for the Guelph Wish Fund for Children. The event on Feb. 17 at the Guelph Curling Club starts at 8:15 a.m. and the silent auction closes at 4:45 p.m.

They also have a Patrick Mahomes autographed jersey to auction off.

Loftin was a bit shocked about the jersey at first.

“I mean thank God she’s going out with somebody who just won the Super Bowl,” said Loftin, in an interview with GuelphToday.

The news about the jersey comes just days after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers.

The iconic pop-star was seen kissing the three-time Super Bowl winner on the field.

It’s such a whirlwind given the attention and excitement Swift has received for dating someone from the winning team, said Loftin.

She didn’t have a guess as to what she thinks the jersey will sell for.

“Let’s hope thousands show up at the door,” said Loftin. By thousands, she meant thousands of Swifties.

After Loftin's social media post went viral on X she’s received a bit of negative feedback from people commenting on the post who claim the signature isn’t real.

The framed jersey comes with a certificate of authenticity. The vast majority of feedback has been positive.

It’s great to get the organization's name out there “and let Guelph and Wellington County families know about this charity that’s there for their kids if they need it,” said Loftin.

“As wonderful as we all are, we’re not at the Taylor Swift level,” she said.

It would be great to let Swift and Kelce know about it and maybe tweeting at them could get their attention, Loftin said.

Kelce’s jersey won’t be the only one in the auction. Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes has a signed jersey along with many others from players of different sports teams.

Linamar has partnered with a man who acquired the authenticated jerseys. The money from the jerseys will be split evenly between his charity and the Guelph Wish Fund for Children.
