Today, the Guelph Chamber of Commerce announced that Amy Kendall join the organization as the interim CEO. As the Chamber of Commerce embarks on a search for a permanent CEO, Amy brings valuable leadership and experience to ensure the Chamber continues to deliver exceptional programs uninterrupted.
“Amy brings a wealth of experience, having served on numerous Chamber of Commerce boards, and leading our board as chair,” says Melanie Lang, chair of the Board of Directors, Guelph Chamber of Commerce.
During his four years as president and CEO, Mr. Mwanzia is credited with successfully advocating on behalf of Guelph businesses, supporting small-and-medium sized businesses in their efforts to go global and further establishing Guelph on Canada’s Innovation Corridor.
“After serving over a decade in the Chamber network, it is time for a change, I was thrilled that my final station in the network was here in Guelph,” says Kithio Mwanzia, outgoing president and CEO, Guelph Chamber of Commerce. “It has been a true pleasure working with dedicated volunteers on our Board of Directors and a talented team within the Chamber of Commerce office to serve the Guelph business and surrounding community,” concludes Mwanzia.
The Board of Directors is working on a transition plan that will ensure Chamber activities continue without interruption and that recruitment for a new president and CEO happens in due course. Kithio Mwanzia came to Guelph to serve as president and CEO, having served in leadership roles at the St. Catharines-Thorold Chamber and Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce.
