The Downtown Guelph Business Association (DGBA) has launched a contest to shine a light on small business. Visit the Downtown Guelph FB page to review your favourite business. Not only could you win a $250 gift certificate, you will give a much-needed morale boost to business owners.
DGBA Operations Manager Sam Jewell explains “we have seen an outpouring of support from our community for small businesses. To harness that support and bring some much needed positivity to small business owners, we launched our #SaySomethingNice contest. Nice things have been said by hundreds of people so far and businesses are feeling the love.”
A new contest will be run every week for four weeks. Two winners are picked each week and in Week One, Jaime Bryant won for her review of Millennium Clothing Co.
“I absolutely love the ladies and the service I receive while shopping at Millennium Clothing Company. Robyn always greets me with a warm smile and has ALWAYS remembered my name. She took it upon herself to get to know my style so she can make awesome suggestions while I am browsing. I have never left the store empty handed. Thanks for being so awesome!”
In response to these comments, Millenium Clothing owners Robin and Lynn said “we have been in business for almost 24 years. We would not be here without our customers who take time to support small businesses. They continue to stand by us as we all deal with the impacts of Covid-19. We have shifted to online shopping with curbside pickup or delivery for the time being, although we do miss having them in the store! Naturally we are flattered and delighted when we are complimented and our efforts are acknowledged. And when they take extra time to write about it, that feels great!”
The contest runs til April 30, with new winners announced each week.
