A plan to build a six-storey apartment building near the city's southern edge drew no opposition Monday night at the mandatory statutory public meeting at city council's planning meeting.
One person registered as a delegate but did not show up.
Mar-Cot Developments wants to build the 43-unit apartment building on a piece of land with 72 metres fronting Gordon Street between Poppy Drive and Gosling Gardens.
The official address is 1871 and 1879 Gordon St.
Proposed developments often draw delegates to council at the mandatory public meeting.
The developer is seeking a zoning by-law amendment to rezone the property from the current agricultural zone in the former Township of Puslinch to a specialized high density apartment zone.
The land was annexed by the city from the Township of Puslinch in 1993.
The proposal has 59 off-street parking spots above and below ground.
The property currently has two detached homes, which will be demolished.
Council approved receipt of the application but there is no decision at this time.
The proposal will now go back to staff for review and potential adjustments. Staff will then come back to council at a later date with a recommendation.
