Beyond Borders is back for its gala come January in an effort to raise money for Guelph General Hospital and Doctors Without Borders.
The event will be hosted Jan. 20 at the River Run Centre from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased on the River Run Centre website starting in the next couple of weeks.
In six weeks UGDSB students plan and host a charity gala with a goal of raising $150,000. Each year the program has raised over $100,000.
After money is given to the Guelph General Hospital and Doctors Without Borders the remaining funds will be put back into the program to try and eliminate fees for students for the program.
The program is “designed to push students beyond the confines of traditional classrooms and immerse them into the community,” said in a press release.
It aims to provide hands-on experience in the real world so students can lead, shape and take on challenges, continued in the press release.
