Upper Grand DSB students placed in the top three spots in nine categories.

Elementary Competition

Elementary students from the Upper Grand DSB saw success at the provincial Skills Ontario competition in Toronto earlier this week. The UGDSB had 46 students competing in 13 different competitions at the elementary level.

A team of four students from Westwood Public School captured the bronze medal in the Green Energy Competition. Students on this team included Bella S., Jessica W., Chloe S., and Clair S.

Four students from Laurelwoods Public School took home the bronze medal in the Intermediate Technology Competition. Students on this team included Maha A., Thomas M., Austin W., and Noah D.

Skills Ontario Competitors from the UGDSB are supported by the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) and the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program.

Congratulations to all UGDSB students that competed in the elementary and secondary Skills competition.
