10C Shared Space is hosting a Community Open House at their 42 Carden St. location on Thursday, June 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. The Open House is free and offers community members a chance to meet and learn from the amazing people, organizations and businesses that make 10C and the Guelph Farmers’ Market shine.
At the Open House, visitors can expect:
- Guided tours of 10C and opportunities to see and learn about the spaces available for community use
- Information about 10C’s community programs, including SDG Cities and Food Uniting Neighbours (f.u.n.)
- Take in two exhibitions by local Guelph artists
- Enjoy music, drama and comedy performances throughout the evening
- Meet businesses and organizations who are working toward social and environmental change and have received loans from their social finance program Harvest Impact - many will have products for sale and demonstrations available
- See the Nourish Kitchen in action and sample yummy food and drink offerings
"We are beyond excited to open the doors and showcase the space and highlight 10C members to the community," said Julia Grady, executive director and co-founder at 10C Shared Space. "The goal is to show off the collaborative and inspiring environment where 10C members work, connect, and grow, and show people how their own initiatives might find a home here.”
The Community Open House will end with an After Party on the Fourth Floor, featuring a musical performance from Communism and musical mixing from DJ Natey Pancakes, and co-presented by our friends at Hillside. Tickets for the Open House After Party can be purchased on Eventbrite.
During the Open House, attendees can also visit the Guelph Farmers’ Market from 4 to 7 p.m. Running weekly through October on Thursdays, the Market offers a midweek market experience. Visitors can connect with some of their favourite Saturday vendors and discover new vendors and products.
10C’s Community Open House is free and open to the public. No registration is required for the Open House or Thursdays at the Market; walk-ins are welcome.
