It’s the end of an era for a longstanding Guelph sandwich shop.
The owner of the Quiznos Sub location on Stone Road has confirmed to GuelphToday that it will close at the end of the day on Tuesday, Aug. 27. It is the only location in the city.
“It didn’t work out,” Sam Shitanshu, owner of the location. “We are losing money.”
The location has been open in Stonegate Plaza since 2005.
Shitanshu bought the location in 2010.
He has mixed feelings about the decision. While he is no longer losing money, three full-time team members are losing their jobs.
“Thank you for your support and patronage over the years,” it says on a sign posted in the window of the restaurant.
The next closest Quiznos location is on Hespeler Road in Cambridge.
Shitanshu is also selling off the equipment in the store, and asks to contact him if you’re interested.
