Original and One-of-a-kind Encaustic Paintings.

Elena’s work is created with Encaustic, an ancient medium made by combing damar resin and beeswax. The word “encaustic” comes from Ancient Greek “enkaustikos” which means “to burn in”, referring to the process of fusing the paint with heat.

Elena is inspired by nature and fascinated by its magnitude of colours and textures. Obsessed with detail, she often finds herself examining objects in nature up close, captivated by intricate shapes, lines, variations of colour and translucency. Elena’s encaustic paintings are rich in that visual and tactile expression.
