SUMMARY OF POSITION

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Engagement and Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing and executing fundraising and donor engagement events, recruiting, training and supporting Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) volunteers, as well as implementing approved program and fundraising strategies to raise capital funds for Sault Area Hospital.

JOB DUTIES
Events Coordination
• Develop and maintain an annual event plan, aligned with current organizational priorities.
• Lead the planning, project management and execution SAHF fundraising events.
• Establish relationships and solicit support for events from potential sponsors, venues, vendors, suppliers, volunteers and attendees.
• Support the work of events-based committees of the Foundation and Board.
• Research, identify and develop opportunities for new SAHF events.
• Act as primary point of contact for third party events, including collaborating with organizers, attending events as a Foundation representative, and developing supporter pipelines.
• Assist SAHF team with other events (eg. lottery, educational, networking), as needed.
Community Engagement
• Train, coordinate and support volunteers to assist with events, lotteries, fundraising programs, administration and other SAHF needs.
• Collaborate with SAH Volunteer Resources to meet volunteer SAH orientation requirements, where necessary.
• Plan and attend volunteer recruiting activities and events, in collaboration with team members.
• Assist with implementing donor programs.
Administration
• Establish annual financial goals and metrics for success of events.
• Evaluate and report on events effectiveness against strategic and financial goals.
• Track all communications with stakeholders in the Foundation’s donor database.
• Establish timelines and priorities with multiple stakeholders to support event implementation.
• Work collaboratively with applicable SAHF team members on event promotional plans and materials, scheduling, budgeting and invoicing.
• Maintain knowledge and build experience working with computer software and computer/online technology and adaptability in a changing digital environment.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
• Comply with all Sault Area Hospital Foundation and Sault Area Hospital policies and procedures.

STAFFING AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
• University degree, college diploma or equivalent combination of experience/education
• Minimum 3 years of experience in events coordination
• Experience fundraising for a non-profit is an asset (preferably in healthcare)
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge or donor databases is an asset
• Valid driver’s license

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a team member.
• Ability to read, write and communicate to perform the duties of the position.
• Proficiency and accuracy in clerical tasks including data entry, typing, filing systems, documentation etc.
• Customer service, interpersonal and telephone skills.
• Ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible and reassuring manner.
• High level of privacy sensitivity working in a healthcare environment.
• Computer literacy in a Microsoft environment and ability to use other computer and online applications.
• Ability to maintain successful working relationships with the interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to organize time effectively to perform the duties of the position.
