City of Guelph joins provincial leaders at AMO
The City of Guelph joined provincial leaders at the 125th Annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference in Ottawa, from August 18 - 20. Guelph’s leadership met with representatives from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Long-Term Care along with several others to advocate for priorities impacting Guelph’s residents.
Among other issues, the City called on the province to review the existing municipal fiscal framework, provide permanent funding for the Community Paramedicine for Long Term Care program, and to strengthen the Residential Tenancies Act to protect renters from illegal renovictions.

College Avenue West closure starting August 23
No westbound traffic between University Avenue West and Edinburgh Road South
The City of Guelph is working to design and construct updated watermain infrastructure, wastewater infrastructure, and protected cycling infrastructure on College Avenue West from Janefield Avenue to Dundas Lane.
The next stage of phase 1 construction is anticipated to begin August 23. This stage of construction spans from 100 metres west of Rodney Boulevard to University Avenue West. During this construction, no westbound traffic will be permitted on College Avenue West between University Avenue West and Edinburgh Road South. This restriction is expected to remain in place until December 2024. Please follow the posted signs for safety and detour information.
All businesses in the construction area remain open and every effort will be made to keep properties accessible throughout construction.
