Interested in starting a community garden on City property in your neighbourhood? Gather a group of your friends and neighbours who’d like to work together to grow delicious garden goodies and apply for the 2025 growing season!

We even have two locations already deemed suitable for community gardens: Margaret Greene Park and Courtney, Goines and Malott Park. Be sure to let us know if you’re interested in either of these sites!
What is a community garden?
Community gardens are parcels of land used by neighbourhood residents to grow vegetables, herbs, pollinator flowers and/or fruit. They’re important elements of our community because they can:
Enhance community food security
Offer educational and social opportunities
Provide environmental benefits
