A Guelph high school student faces assault and weapons charges after another teen was sprayed in the face with a noxious substance outside their school Thursday, Gueph police report.
Just before noon police were called to the south end school. Investigation revealed a 17-year-old student was sitting in his car outside the school when he was approached by another teen and sprayed in the face with a substance similar to pepper spray. The victim experienced pain and shortness of breath and was assisted by a staff member, who experienced symptoms from secondary exposure.
Thursday afternoon a 17-year-old male was located at his home and arrested for assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and administering a noxious substance. He will appear in court November 6.
