Three Gryphons selected in CFL Draft

Former Gryphon Tavius Robinson, selected in last weekend's NFL draft, was also chosen

A quartet of Guelph connections in Tuesday night's Canadian Football League draft.

Three Guelph Gryphons and a former Gryph, heard their name called.

Defensive back Siriman Harrison Bagayogo was selected by the BC Lions in the second round, 14th overall.

The back-to-back U SPORTS first-team all-Canadian recorded 13.5 tackles and two interceptions last season for the Gryphons, and also earned an invite to a rookie mini-camp with the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the third round, wide receiver Clark Barnes was taken by the Calgary Stampeders.

Barnes' 2022 season was limited to four games due to injury, but collected a number of accolades throughout his OUA career, including a U SPORTS first-team all-Canadian nod in 2019 as a kick returner.

Offensive lineman Spencer Masterson is also destined for Alberta, after he was taken by the Edmonton Elks in the sixth round.

Former Gryphon defensive lineman Tavius Robinson waited until the eighth round before Saskatchewan took him 66th overall.

It ends an eventful week for the Guelph native, who played in the OUA in 2018 and 2019. The Ole Miss Rebel was taken by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of last weekend's NFL draft.
